Current research interests: My current research focuses on alpha-synuclein aggregation in Parkinson’s disease. Building on my PhD work investigating the earliest stages of alpha-synuclein aggregation in mammalian cells and dopaminergic neurons, I am now exploring how this process reshapes intercellular communication in a disease-relevant model. Specifically, I aim to understand how glial cells support neuronal clearance of alpha-synuclein and why this protective function progressively fails during disease progression.
